World Labs Marble
World LabsFei-Fei Li's World Labs made Marble available to everyone, its first commercial product after a September preview. Marble builds a persistent 3D world from text, one or more images, a video or a rough 3D layout; you can edit it, expand it, combine several worlds into one, and export it as Gaussian splats, meshes, or a video along a camera path you draw. It is not a real-time stream: it makes a place you can walk.
That made it the first world model filmmakers used as a set. Tim Simmons scouted a Marble space station for his short Alarm and pulled plates from it; Rik Vasquez stitched four Marble scenes into one stage for twelve episodes of Cryptid Worlds; and HTC's VIVE Mars loaded the worlds directly behind live green-screen actors. Ten months later AMD agreed to acquire World Labs.
