Grok Imagine's $175K Odyssey Contest

"Homer had a lyre. You have Grok Imagine." xAI launched a two-week contest with a $175,000 pool for 3-to-5-minute scenes from the Odyssey made in Grok Imagine. The subtext was hard to miss: weeks after Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey opened to $264M, Elon Musk had pledged a "historically accurate" Grok Odyssey by year-end. The contest crowdsourced the audition.

Winners came September 4. NemPerez took the $100K grand prize for a five-minute film, JSFilmz took $50K for an original ending, and Allen T. took $25K for a Polyphemus horror film. After February's $1M ad contest, it's xAI's second big-purse bet that the fastest way to showcase a model is to pay its community to make films with it.
