Winner of the Jury Award at the Cannes Short Film Festival in 2022, 'The Crow' was the first AI-generated film to take a prize at Cannes. Glenn Marshall found his inspiration in 'PAINTED', a viral 2012 choreography short, and fed frames of its dancer, Dorotea Saykaly, into OpenAI's CLIP as image references, so the neural network reinterpreted her movement frame by frame as a crow in a desolate landscape.
