Original Voice

A young filmmaker faces an empty prompt box with a Generate Film button and types "create a short film with an original voice." What follows is the machine's answer, a stream of images on every meaning of the word voice: the inside of a larynx, boomboxes, an opera house, the civil rights movement, a bird over a city beach. Every image began in DALL-E 2 and was then reworked and recut by hand. An Honoree at Runway's first AI Film Festival, it was cited in Filmmaker Magazine as a picture of the prompt box as a magnified blank page.
