The official trailer for Gods Don't Give Gifts, Gossip Goblin's anthology of four interconnected science-fiction stories, and with it a run of firsts for an AI-made feature. It is the first AI film to receive an MPA rating (R), the trailer is cleared to play in US theaters from October 9 with posters in multiplex lobbies, and the film opens in a limited theatrical release in the US and UK on December 4, pushed back from October 30 so that Fable can submit it for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, with screenings for voters and critics and billboards across Los Angeles.

Until then, AI films reached audiences mostly through X and YouTube. Here one was going through the same gates as any studio picture: a ratings board, a trailer in front of other movies, an awards campaign. Fable CEO Edward Saatchi called it "this generation's Toy Story." Zack London put the irony on the table himself: "I made these films with AI, which some people find ironic. But using a medium to interrogate that medium is one of the oldest moves in art." The run of shorts that led here, Victory By Any Means and Pace Yourselves, had served as its calling cards.
