The inaugural nomorefrog AI Film Awards (NAIFA), a Korean-run international festival "established to celebrate the future of AI-based filmmaking," presented by nomorefrog founder Jake Choi. It ran as a hybrid: submissions closed July 31, official selections were named August 10, films screened online August 18 through the OvAI platform — a Seoul-based OTT service built specifically for AI film and series — and winners were announced August 20. Six categories: AI Short Film, AI Animation, AI Music Video, AI Experimental Film, AI Visual Art Film, and AI Advertising, topped by a grand prize called the Pink Frog Award. The Pink Frog Award went to Milk Tea, a three-minute music video by Arthur Liew of Malaysia, which also took Best AI Music Video; Liew's eight-minute BLOOD DEBT won Best AI Experimental Film, making him the festival's breakout name. Best AI Short Film went to Salty by Jordan Daniel Chesney (United States), Best AI Animation to Butterfly Eyes by Sohee Jeon (South Korea), and Best AI Visual Art Film to Nuo drama rite by Max Liu (China). No winner was listed for AI Advertising. The selection is telling in its geography: a Malaysian grand-prize winner, Korean and Chinese category winners, and a single American in a field that Western AI festivals rarely reach.
