The video that made AI video generation mainstream. Horrifying, hilarious, impossible to look away from. Generated with ModelScope's text-to-video tool. Millions of views. The 'this changes everything' moment for the general public.

The clip came from r/StableDiffusion, and the repost on X passed 9 million views; within two weeks accounts were already filing it under "AI history." It never went away. Every new model was measured against it: when OpenAI showed [Sora](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/sora-preview) in February 2024, Marques Brownlee's first reaction was "Remember Will Smith eating spaghetti?", and when [Hailuo](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/hailuo-video-01) arrived at the end of August, a spaghetti remake was among the first clips people shared.
