For "Who Needs Humans?", a report on how AI is being trained to do skilled jobs, 60 Minutes asked Runway to recreate correspondent Jon Wertheim's studio intro. The team sent one of his past intros and a new script, and about five minutes later had an AI Wertheim, which the broadcast showed on screen beside the real one. Runway CEO Cristóbal Valenzuela posted a behind-the-scenes look at how the intro was made.

It was a demonstration, not a policy change: executive producer Nick Bilton told the audience not to expect anything else AI-generated on the broadcast. But it put a generated version of a correspondent in front of one of the largest audiences in American television, on the program that has defined broadcast news credibility for almost sixty years.
