Ninety-seven seconds of sea creatures tangled, swallowed and suffocated by plastic: "you'll never look at it in the same way." Laen Sanches generated hundreds of stills in Midjourney in the spring of 2022, when it was barely out of beta, upscaled them with Topaz Labs and composited and animated them by hand into a relentless flipbook. It became one of the first AI films to travel the festival circuit, with a Vimeo Staff Pick, an Ars Electronica honorary mention and more than 120 selections, and it was an Honoree at [Runway's first AI Film Festival](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/aiff-2023).
