# Kling 4.0 Announced

Kuaishou announced Kling 4.0 for October and switched on Kling 4.0 Flash the same day for Ultra yearly subscribers. The spec sheet reads like a list of everything filmmakers had been working around: native 30-second generation, up to 10 keyframes in a clip, up to 15 multimodal references in Omni Reference, 4K output with 10-bit HDR, stereo audio with tighter lip sync, video extension, and dialogue in multiple languages, accents and dialects.

Nearly eight months after [Kling 3.0](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/kling-3-0), the version number marks a convergence more than a leap. Thirty-second takes matched [Wan 3.0](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/wan-3-0), keyframe direction followed [Luma Ray3.2](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/luma-ray3-2), and HDR output followed [Ray3](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/luma-ray3) and [Runway Ruby](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/runway-ruby). By the fall of 2026 the leading models were competing on the same checklist.
