# Can AI Make a Star Wars Film?

A 54-second Star Wars sequence that Curious Refuge built in a few hours as a tech demo for a talk in Hollywood on the future of storytelling. Every image, movement and voice came from AI: stills in Midjourney at about 20 renders a shot, motion in Pika, still a beta two months before [Pika 1.0](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/pika-1-0), at about five renders a shot using its new camera controls, voices from ElevenLabs in about two tries each, lip sync with Wav2Lip and an upscale in Topaz Video. An AI even invented the alien language in about ten seconds, conjugating verbs and tenses from the lines they fed it.

The music and sound effects were stock, which they put down to time rather than tools, and lip sync was the weak spot they flagged. It passed 700,000 views and is a clean example of the pipeline in [The still frame takes over](https://aifilmhistory.org/workflows/image-to-video).
