After a crowd-surfing accident kills A$AP Rocky, his crew keeps the career going by building a new, almost-real Rocky. Grin Machine's Dan Streit and Cole Kush shot the video over three days, then did the AI work themselves: an intro of text-to-image stills extruded with depth maps, driving shots repainted frame by frame, a NeRF camera move through the car, "fan photos" outpainted from extras' iPhone snaps, and Rocky's face remade with new hair and expressions, using Stable Diffusion, DALL-E 2 and Runway. It was the theme song of EA's Need for Speed Unbound, passed ten million views, and won a Merit award at [Runway's first AI Film Festival](https://aifilmhistory.org/entry/aiff-2023).
